Day 361

Today I took some girls out for brunch because one of them is moving to Canada. I am so glad that the weather is good despite the typhoon.

I loved the time I had with them, they melted my heart. I guess loving kids is just my calling, I haven't felt this joyful for a long time just by watching them interact :) They said they miss me singing songs with them. I hope they can continue to grow up in love.

I also felt a lot today at church. The pastor talked about how Christians can react to oppression and suffering, and he said something that really touched my heart.

The pastor said, "When we can't trace God's hands, we can trust his heart." I was reminded that being a follower of Jesus means trusting that God loves us so much and that he is working things out for the good of those who are called by him, even when things don't seem to be going as we wanted them to be.

I feel God did respond to some of my most tearful and resentful prayers these days, when I don't understand why certain things happened to me or why certain things still aren't happening. Even though I still feel life's been so hard, I felt seen and comforted today.

Bitterness.

I wanted to drive to Big Wave Bay for brunch with my brother this morning. But my dad said he needs to use the car to go out with friends...
