Hiking and walking weekend

hello dear, how are you? how did you spend the weekend?

For me, it feels like a long awaited weekend, because the Easter long holiday was quite packed for me and work was really hectic for the last few days, so this weekend, I feel like I could finally slow down a bit and have some alone time.

On Saturday, I finally went for hiking after a while :) I actually wasn’t sure if I should go because the weather wasn’t great, but I still went in the end because I really felt like I need some quiet moment with God as I hike in the nature.

When I got up to the peak and sat down at the usual spot, I remembered that the last time I went up there was in February during CNY, and so much has happened since then, in just 1.5 months. I went on a family trip to Japan, had a hospital check up stay that felt like a “pause” to life, sent my parents back to the UK after 5 months, and met a guy who, for the first time in quite awhile, makes me feel like I am in love again.

As I sat at the top looking down to the ocean and thinking about all these, I just had this strong feeling of how tiny I am and how big and powerful God is. I can do hundreds of things on my own to try to make a “change” for my life and still feel like I remain in the same place, but when God makes a move, everything changes - my mental, spiritual, emotional, even physical state. I’m just in awe of the freshness he is trying to bring to my life, to open a new season for me. It also reminds me once again that every time when I feel like I’m entering a new season, whether it’s a exciting or scary one, the only way to find peace in uncertainty is surrendering control to God.

Aside from hiking, today I had lunch with ah Wing after church, and then did some shopping :) Even though I am quite physically exhausted from all the walking and hiking this weekend, I feel more recharged to prepare for a start of new week.

Hope you are also doing okay, Andy dear :) good night 🤍
