My last Disney baby 🥺

I’ve been doing fairly well as my period subsides and I finally feel a bit more energetic. I am also very encouraged by some really positive news at work for my project!

As you know, my role now has become focusing on the licensing partnership projects at Meyer, and the Disney collab was the first one that started 4 years ago. It has actually almost come to an end, and the last global collection is starting to launch recently. It is a Toy Story collection, it was developed in plan to time with the upcoming Toy story 5 movie.

This collection feels extra special to me because in fact, I am not a super Disney fan, but Toy Story is probably one of the Disney/Pixar characters that I actually personally like. And I genuinely believed in this collection that I worked with IF team on to develop, as I think it is really unique and iconic, and it’s by far my personal favourite collection out of all of them.

So few weeks ago, it was first launched in Thailand, and guess what…it kinda went viral and one of the cookware set was SOLD OUT in 2 weeks after the launch!! There are also a lot of reels on Instagram on our products (some I believe is organic) that got really high reach and positive responses.

For example like this one: an unboxing video posted by an IG with only 3K followers, and it got 150K likes and 3.2M views

There also are comments from all around the world (Europe, US, HK, Brazil, Japan etc) asking if these are available in their markets.

It’s kinda surreal for me because I’ve been looking at these Toy Story stuff for a year…and it’s literally my “baby” because I managed the project from the start to end: from us deciding the franchise, to the design direction, to the product selection and all the product design details (I remember picking the pantone colors for each of these products for each characters with Jojo and Patrick…), to reviewing samples, to getting pricings, to making presentations to share with our markets, to working with TBS team on packaging and creating marketing assets for the launch, to coordinating with the markets for their launches…

I’m not saying I’m the only one who contributed to this, because it really does take a village to bring every product to life. But sometimes I feel like I’m so used to overseeing everything in a project, I forgot how much effort and dedication I have put into bringing a project to life, not to mention this time, a well received one. And I am really the only one who oversees the project from end to end in this company 🥺
