Nin 29

hello dear, how are you? how are you spending the nin 29? miss you 🥺

For me, I finished work early at 1pm today, and then I went out with my dad for getting ingredients for the tuen nin dinner. Our family tradition is that my mom’s family would come to our home for that. So it was a busy day for us, I had to help with getting the table ready and also doing the dishes (a loooot of dishes) after dinner. But honestly, even though that’s tiring, I’d rather help with that than having to sit in the living room and socialise with my aunties and uncles for hours. They stayed till almost 11pm, and I am sooo tired now and can’t wait to rest Zzz

Not sure if you remember, but I don’t like Chinese New Year, it’s probably one of the festivals that I hate the most (haha) because I find it so boring. I don’t like these “meaningless” and loud social gatherings that I have to attend every year. I guess as I grow up, the introverted me finds even more overwhelming, but I also can’t escape or excuse myself. In fact even I do, most shops in HK are closed during CNY. So there really isn’t much to do aside from staying home or going out to the nature. Thankfully, I usually only have to go bai nin on chor 1, and there’s another buffet lunch on Saturday this year. For the rest of the holidays, I’ll probably enjoy them alone, like going to hiking and washing my car.

How about you, my dear? how will you be spending the CNY? miss you 🥺 here is how I look this afternoon hiding in my room till the last minute, before I went out to the living and greet my relatives:
