Princess Siumai 👸🏼

hello dear, how are you?

For me, the last few days have been suuuper busy for me. On Friday, I took the afternoon off and helped my friend with their wedding errands by driving them to transport their stuff to the church and different places. And then yesterday was their wedding day and my main role was to do a siumai stall at their cocktail party.

As you may imagine, it’s quite labour intensive with a lot of social, and unfortunately , my period was the heaviest on these two days as well with my period cramps hitting me, so I really had to drag myself and took painkillers to get over it :( Nevertheless, it was such a joyful time to celebrate for my friends. They are a couple in my care group, the guy is actually my uni mate, who is also the guy who made me meet Joao (the previous guy that I met briefly with last year and Chung). This couple are probably the most extroverted friends I have hahaha, because of them, I get to know a bit more people at church, and they are also great friends with Chung that we went to the Egypt exhibition awhile back (if you remember).

It’s my honour to do a siumai stall for them, it’s exciting but also challenging at the same time because they have 200+ guests and they’ve asked if I could prepare 600 siumai! If you can imagine, that’s a looooot of siumai and having to make them while the party, there’s a lot logistics involved as well (for example, buying 600 siumai in time and find freezers to store them). But regardless of all, I made it work! It was a super busy 3 hours of making siumai nonstop for me at that party, but it was so well received that it kept selling out as I made more

As the siumai princess (haha), I’d like to spread love with the siumai I make, so I made sure I used the best formula by using my favourite brand of siumai, paired with a special soy sauce and my favourite chilli oil. The guests loved them a lot that there were actually some who stood in front of the stall to wait for the fresh batch to be ready! So even though I was super tired by the end of it, I was also very satisfied and fulfilled :)

I have more thoughts and feelings that I’m still digesting, but for now, I can finally take more time to rest and recharge from all the social :)
