Lunar New Year me

hello my dear, how did you spend your first day of Lunar New Year?

For me, I only had to go to my dad’s side to bai nin in the afternoon today. This morning, everyone at our home was dead tired after serving my mom’s side for tuen nin faan yesterday, and I woke up at 10am. When I looked at my whatsapp and social media on my phone as I woke, it was all spammed with festive posts and images.

I never liked the very Chinese style celebration vibe, and these posts reminded me how not fit in I would feel in that noisy festive atmosphere later on when I went to my relative’s place, those awkward conversations I had to have, and feeling “fake” to receive red packets from those relatives’ that I only meet once a year and barely know about my life. When I imagined all that in bed, I felt very overwhelmed again in tears.

But then as I did my morning devotional routine, I felt prompted in my heart that God reminded me he is bigger than the overwhelming emotions that I am feeling inside, and I can sit in peace knowing that he is always here lifting up my world for me. I felt calmer and more ready to face the day after reconfiguring my mind, so I wiped out my tears and left my bed to start my day.

Here is my CNY outfit for today :) Both my top and bottom were bought in Taiwan. This was taken later today when I went to Uniqlo.

My brother and I waited awhile in the car after parking, because we didn’t want to go up to our relative’s house yet, haha.

Afterwards, my parents went to another place, and my brother and I stopped by Uniqlo before going home. I got my brother to get me this Tshirt that says “Princess Siumai”, hahaha.

The Tshirt probably doesn’t match with my skirt, but I think I look like college student with this outfit, haha. What do you think? :)
