hello dear, miss you 🤍 how was your friday?

My friday this week actually ended with some great news. Not sure if you remember, but I shared here briefly before my Japan trip that we were stuck with extending our contract with Disney. It is actually one of the stressful things that I have been handling since I came back from Japan. And today, finally, Disney conceded to the ideal offer that Vincent was pushing for.

I feel so relieved because I (& my boss) have been stuck between Disney and Vincent in the past months for is negotiation and there’s been so much back and forth. And every time I have to analyse the new terms on the table by running and gathering some numbers for Vincent to decide on our next move. At the same time, I got a lot of stress from a lot of internal parties because our old contract expired new weeks ago and it’s causing a lot of issues such as customs etc.

I feel like even though this process is really really stressful and dragging, I am proud of myself and my boss that we didn’t give in earlier (I actually wanted to quite a few times throughout the process, haha), and in the end we negotiated some really good terms compared to what was offered at the start. I feel like this is a good learning for myself too. Sometimes when you want something great to come out of it, you just really need to endure the tough, dragging process.

But for now, I am just going to let myself feel relieved and glad that it seems like we finally have landed on something to proceed with. and I no longer have to be stuck with this and can finally have the weekend in peace 🥲
