The meetings

hello my dear, how are you? have you been busy? miss you and I think about you.

I finally got over this super long day that started with a 7am meeting with the US and Vincent. I had 7 meetings in total today, and the last one ended at 8:45pm. Thankfully all the calls I had today weren’t too tough, even though it still required a lot of energy from me.

One of the calls I had was actually with the talent development director (Calvin). He reached out suddenly earlier this week that he would like to discuss with me my career development opportunities. I was a bit surprised that I got reached out, and was curious whose idea it was. And at today’s call, he told me it’s actually the senior management team (Vincent and the other two) who suggested this. He explained that it’s because they see my commitment and potential in my work on the Disney project and another “stretch” project, but at the same time they know that I am on a contract agreement with them instead of a permanent/full time arrangement, so they want to know if I am open to discuss some longer term career development opportunities with them.

At this stage I am not thinking much about the specific yet, but more just open and curious to hear out what they have in mind. But what really sticks out to me is the timing of this being brought up.

I shared with you here before how I have been feeling lost since I came back from Europe and have been asking God what he wants me to focus or grow in this season, and I felt like it might be to take this time to think about things that are more medium/longer term like finance. And I also shared with you awhile back about my work/career related struggles in this post. So I am just really surprised by all these “coincidences” recently that all lead me to think about longer term things.

Again, I don’t know what will come out from the conversation, and I don’t actually have a high expectation on it. I actually don’t know what will come out with after all these thinking and reflection I have about the future. But what really moved me was realising how God indeed hears my desperate prayers even though it may seem like it will take awhile. It is a timely reminder for me that in the midst of all the questions and doubts I am having, he is still a God who is active and constantly working things out for me. And it reminds me of this line that I really resonate with: seek and you will find.
